FrontLine’s Amy Lynch on the SEC’s upcoming rulemaking (ThinkAdvisor)

The SEC has its sights set on proposing up to 60 new rules and amendments. According to its Chairman Paul Atkins, the SEC will pursue robust rulemaking for the remainder of 2026 through the end of 2027. Amy Lynch, FrontLine’s Founder and President, comments that the recently released SEC Regulatory Agenda contains expected proposed rules that will mainly be amendments to existing rules, with a crypto rule being the exception. She explains that the SEC’s stated goal with new rulemaking will be to reduce compliance burdens for the industry. Expect the proposals to focus on the custody rule, the recordkeeping rule and off-channel communications, e-delivery of documents, private markets, as well as the crypto rule. The new Regulatory Agenda provides the SEC’s planned rulemaking and includes the flexibility to make changes during the year.
