SEC’s regulatory agenda reflects policy shift (ThinkAdvisor)

The SEC recently released details about its regulatory agenda, describing its upcoming planned rulemaking. Chairman Paul Atkins’ statement about the SEC’s Regulatory Flexibility Agenda signals a new policy transition by declaring a “renewed focus on supporting innovation, capital formation, market efficiency, and investor protection.” A primary stated goal is to formulate crypto regulation, while there is also clear emphasis on pursuing deregulation policies and proposing rules that help with raising capital and investor access to private markets. Amy Lynch, FrontLine’s Founder and President, believes the two crypto-related proposed rules will most definitely come to fruition since the current SEC has a heavy crypto rulemaking mandate. Also expect this SEC to update or modernize rules pertaining to industry practice changes to create more ease of capital formation, notes Ms. Lynch.
