Upheaval of established regulatory framework unlikely (InvestmentNews)

With a new SEC set to be in place soon, FrontLine Compliance Founder and President Amy Lynch has a bold prediction about where the country’s regulatory system will be in four years. She claims, “The reality is not much will change. The US regulatory system is pretty much set in stone. The worst they can do is nothing.” However, she adds that former SEC Chair Gary Gensler’s game plan he put in place will more than likely be disrupted with his replacement, as well as with the replacements of certain commissioners. Ms. Lynch sees a reduction in overall rulemaking and an SEC tasked with changing the current initiatives in place, but one that will still take on the responsibility to protect investors.
